Why is "Red" such a hot colour and would you consider wearing red this winter?

Red is a very bold colour and usually people comment on the colour to the wearer. Many people shy away from wearing red because it attracts too much attention, but, red can be so invigorating to the eye and is a colour symbolic with power and passion.

However, be careful in the choice of red you might choose to wear because red can arouse certain prejudices in people. There are women who do not feel comfortable wearing scarlet red because it can be assoicated with sexual connotations ie ever heard the term "red hat, no knickers"?

Nevertheless, red can be complimentary if worn with discretion and can go a long way in brightening up an appearance. Red lipstick and red shoes works for me.

We often do not take people seriously unless they are dressed in monotone - why is this?
